Battle Of The Brow Pencils...

"Good Brows. Good Mood. Good Day."

I'll be honest, it's taken me years to love my brows due to over-plucking as a teen and the fact that I have a scar on my left brow which can make it difficult to cover up. I've used many different types of brow products from powders to pomades but I've found my favourite way to fill in my brows is by using a micro pencil. I use all 3 of these brow pencils regularly and in this post I will be reviewing all of them. So, if you'd like to hear my thoughts please continue scrolling...

The reason I enjoy using these micro pencils is because you can really build up your brows depending on what type of look you are going for. Also due to the pencil being so small it's harder to make mistakes and easy to create your desired shape. I like to follow the natural shape of my brow but make them slightly longer on the end and fill in underneath so that they aren't as arched.
Here are my natural brows, with no product in them. You can see they are quite short and lack hair underneath where I have over plucked them years ago.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil 'Dark Chocolate' £8.50
I've had this pencil for over a year now and I originally bought it when I had tinted my brows so it is currently slightly too dark for me. This glides on quite smoothly so you do have to be quite careful you don't overdraw your brows but if you use a light hand this is perfect. I would say this is my least favourite out of the 3 as it's not the right shade and I think they only have 2 shades in this pencil which is disappointing. However, if you have dark, ashy brows then this would be great for you.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil 'Ash Brown' £8
This is my most recent pencil out of the 3 and I bought it because I heard it was a great dupe for ABH Brow Wiz. I completely agree, I think that it is a great dupe and so much cheaper! It doesn't glide on very smoothly but I actually like that because it means that you can build up the colour as opposed to creating harsh lines. Even though it is called 'Ash Brown' this is the warmest out of the 3 shades but I still think that it blends in nicely with my natural brow colour. It does have a brow brush/spoolie on 1 end which is handy to brush through your brows.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz 'Medium Brown' £22
I have used this for years and absolutely love it, the only thing that is putting me off buying it recently is that it has increased in price to £22 from £15. It's been around for years and has always been popular so I am not too sure why it has increased by so much. However, I just love this pencil. It has the perfect formula that is very similar to the NYX pencil in the way that it doesn't glide on so smoothly so that you can really build up the colour and shape. I used to use the 'Dark Brown' shade which was great but I am so glad I have gone for the 'Medium Brown' as like I said you can build it up depending on what look you are going for. It says on the website that it is 'great for light to medium hair and silver hair' I have balayage blonde and light brown hair but I do build this product up so that my brows are ashy brown. I would say this shade is in-between the other 2 shades, it's definitely not warm and it's not too dark.

If you are after a new product to fill in your brows I would definitely recommend 1 of these 3 depending on what shade you are and how much you want to spend. Overall I would recommend the NYX pencil to most people because you can go in store and swatch them, they have a great selection of shades and it's the cheapest out of the 3!

I hope that you have enjoyed this post, thank-you for taking the time to read it.

Much love,
Jade x
