My Brow Routine...

"Good Brows. Good Mood. Good Day..."

Before you read this post please note that my brows are definitely far from perfect! They are very uneven, patchy and perhaps not everyone's 'Brow Goals' however, if like me, you grew up in an era (early 00's) where you started tweezing your brows yourself at the age of 11 even though your Mum told you not to and made them look like tadpoles then you may find this post to be quite useful! I share my tips on how I fill them in and what I use to help hairs grow back.

So, here they are. My eyebrows. As you can see they are very uneven, the hair grows upwards on one and downwards on the other. I also have a scar from an operation I had back when I was 10 where hair just never grew back. They are also quite short, this is due to me over plucking them when I was a young teen.

A step that I do a couple of times a year is to tint them myself. This makes a huge difference to the shape and how much you need to fill them in as it can tint the fair hairs and make your brows appear fuller. I was a little scared at first as I didn't want them to go too dark but, this tint from Colorsport is so easy to use. I was *gifted this a couple of years ago but have since bought a new box. The natural colour of my brows is actually darker than my natural hair colour so I only tend to tint them just to get the fair hairs as I don't want them to look too dark against my blonde hair. (Please always follow all instructions)

What do I do daily?

First step...
I always use a tinted brow gel. Gimme Brow from Benefit has been a favourite for years mainly because I adore the small wand it comes with. Gimme Brow is not only great for giving your brows a little colour, it also helps to make your eyebrows look thicker as it coats the fine hairs you have giving you more of a natural look. As you can see from the photos, I could just do this step if I wanted to quickly fill them in as it makes a big difference. I use shade number 3 most days and then if I wanted more of a full brow for a night out or if I was wearing a full face of make up I would use shade number 4.

Next up...
The Urban Decay *Brow Blade has been a game changer for me this year! One end is a micro pencil and the other end is an ink stain felt tip. So, the second step I do is use the micro pencil to shape my brows a little better and fill in any patchy areas that the brow gel can't fill in due to bald patches. I've definitely reduced how much I use a pencil as I have found this can create more of an unnatural look. The ink stain felt tip end is what I was most interested in when I saw this product. I've chosen to fill in my small scar since I was a young teen as I used to be so self-conscience of it and until this product, I'd never found something that created 'hair-like strokes'. It did take me a while to get used to it and I've still got a way to go to make it look more natural but I'd definitely recommend a light hand. Not only do I fill in my scar but I also use the felt tip to add in small hair-like strokes to other parts of my brows where I may not have any hair or even on the ends if I want to make them appear longer.

Finally...
I LOVE this product so much and I love the brand even more! Browcote is the ultimate product to make your brows stay in place all day and even make them look thicker. This, like Gimme Brow, has a small wand/spoolie brush so no matter how small or big your brows are you can finish them off with this.

Between each step I use a spoolie to brush through my brows. This helps to blend the products together and keep your brow hairs looking natural. I also started using RapidBrow last year after they kindly sent it to me and I would definitely say it has helped. For me, it has helped the ends of my brows and I actually like that they look a little overgrown. Rosie Huntington-Whitely has the most perfect brows and I like that hers aren't too pruned.

So, there we have it. I feel like that was a little too in depth considering I was just talking about eyebrows but, hopefully I have shared some tips and advice that you may find useful! Please share your favourite brow products with me and let me know if you try out any of the products I have shared.

Much love as always,

Jade x

PS: I decided to leave the photos of my skin unedited. As much as I am not 100% happy with my skin right now, I think it's important to show what real skin looks like, spots, fine lines, peach fuzz etc!
